Miradores de Jávea

Viewpoints of Jávea

Jávea (Xàbia) is more than just a beach destination, it is a natural amphitheater facing the Mediterranean. The Viewpoints Route is a signposted journey through the most strategic spots along its rugged coastline, stretching from Cape San Antonio to Granadella.

Discover the Viewpoints

Each balcony offers a unique perspective of the most spectacular landscape of the Costa Blanca

1.

Els Molins (The Windmills)

Window to the agricultural past of the Marina Alta. Located on the Las Planas plateau, it houses 11 windmills from the 14th century built in Tosca stone.

Complete view of the historic center of Jávea, its bay and the imposing south face of Montgó. Ideal at sunset when the stone turns orange.

2.

Cap de Sant Antoni

Geological giant of 160 meters falling vertically into one of the richest marine reserves in the Mediterranean, next to the lighthouse.

On clear days you can see the silhouette of Ibiza. To the north, the Gulf of Valencia reaching the Sierra de Irta in Castellón.

3.

Punta del Arenal

Sea-level perspective at the southern end of Arenal Beach, on Tosca rock with remains of a Roman settlement.

Crown jewel: sunset behind Montgó where the 'elephant' silhouette is profiled with the sun falling behind its head.

4.

Séquia de la Nòria

Viewpoint for ancient engineering lovers with a large canal carved in living stone used in Roman times for salt production.

Contrast between geometric lines carved by man and the chaotic force of waves. Spectacular during eastern storms.

5.

Cala Blanca

Three small coves (Caleta I, II and del Francés) with whitish pebbles and almost lunar landscape sculpted by marine erosion.

Perfect water transparency and Posidonia Oceanica meadows carpeting the seabed. Favorite spot for locals.

6.

Caletes (The Coves)

Natural continuation of Cala Blanca with elevated perspective of the most secluded coves, accessible by coastal path.

Immensity of the bay from a lateral angle. Excellent for observing seabirds and getting photos without people.

7.

Creu del Portitxol

Hub of historic paths presided over by a carved stone cross, starting point to Cala de la Barraca.

Main view of Portitxol Island with its conical shape. Beginning of landscape change toward the great southern cliffs.

8.

L'Illa (The Island)

Closest point to Portitxol Island, a 300m rock mass with Roman archaeological remains and protected botanical value.

Ideal for watching divers and traditional fishermen. Very photogenic in mornings with frontal sun on the island.

9.

La Falzia

At 150m height, in Balcón al Mar. For many the most spectacular viewpoint, surrounded by pine forest with resin and salt aroma.

180-degree aerial view from Cape San Antonio to Cap Negre. Chromatic contrasts: green pines, white cliffs, electric blue sea.

10.

Cap Negre

Dark rocks and dense pine vegetation to the water's edge. Access via shaded path among luxury villas and Mediterranean forest.

Unique perspective between Cap Prim and Cap de la Nau. View of inaccessible coves with water so clear you can count the stones below.

11.

Cap de la Nau

Easternmost point of Alicante, closest to Ibiza (80 km). Important lighthouse on 120m cliff, separates Jávea and Moraira bays.

Below is the Cova dels Orguens where boats can enter. Restaurants with stunning views. Must-stop destination.

12.

Les Pesqueres

Fascinating human history: rope and ladder structures where fishermen risked their lives on vertical cliffs.

Raw, wild and vertical landscape. Southward view with Marina Alta coastline and Calpe's Peñón de Ifach in the distance.

13.

Ambolo

Next to the 16th century Torre d'Ambolo, view of Isla del Descubridor. Overlooks Cala Ambolo, a nudist beach with pristine waters.

Wild panorama without developments: mountain, stone tower and sea breaking against islets. Historic coastal defense point.

14.

Castell de la Granadella

Only viewpoint requiring a hike (30-40 min). Ruins of 18th century fort against British fleet attacks.

Unbeatable view of Cala de la Granadella protected by cliffs, featured in travel magazines. On the other side, Cap de la Nau.

15.

Granadella

Last viewpoint in the upper forest park, Jávea's 'green lung' that survived several fires with admirable regeneration.

Perfect ending: distant elevated view of the cove voted Spain's most beautiful beach. Mediterranean environment with rosemary and thyme.
