Viewpoints of Jávea

La Falzia

At 150m height, in Balcón al Mar. For many the most spectacular viewpoint, surrounded by pine forest with resin and salt aroma.

Route Tips

180-degree aerial view from Cape San Antonio to Cap Negre. Chromatic contrasts: green pines, white cliffs, electric blue sea.

Located at 150 meters height, in the Balcón al Mar urbanization, this is for many the most spectacular viewpoint of the entire route. It offers an 180-degree aerial view spanning from Cape San Antonio to Cap Negre, with Portitxol Island just below. It is surrounded by a lush pine forest that offers shade and an unmistakable aroma of resin and sea salt. From La Falzia, you can appreciate the true magnitude of Jávea's coast and its chromatic contrasts: the intense green of the pines, the white of the limestone cliffs, and the electric blue of the Mediterranean. It is a quiet place, away from the crowds, where the sea breeze rises up the cliff, refreshing even on the hottest August days. It is the perfect place to understand why this area is called 'La Falzia' (the sickle), due to the curved and sharp shape of its cliffs.

Transport

Although some sections can be done on foot, it's best to travel by car or motorcycle as the complete route covers about 20 km.

Best Time

Sunrise at Cape San Antonio and sunset at Punta del Arenal are the most powerful experiences.

Equipment

Bring water, comfortable shoes (some viewpoints have dirt paths) and good binoculars to see the islands and boats.
