Ambolo

Next to the 16th century Torre d'Ambolo, view of Isla del Descubridor. Overlooks Cala Ambolo, a nudist beach with pristine waters.

Route Tips

Wild panorama without developments: mountain, stone tower and sea breaking against islets. Historic coastal defense point.

Located next to the 16th-century watchtower (Torre d'Ambolo), this viewpoint offers a privileged view of the Isla del Descubridor. The island is named in honor of a local sailor who, according to tradition, participated in the discovery of America with Columbus. The viewpoint overlooks Cala Ambolo, a nudist beach with pristine waters that currently has land access closed for safety, keeping it intact. The panorama from Ambolo is one of the most 'wild'. You won't see large developments, just the mountain, the stone tower, and the sea breaking against the islets. It is a site with an important historical significance for coastal defense, as bonfires were lit here to warn of the arrival of pirate ships.

Transport

Although some sections can be done on foot, it's best to travel by car or motorcycle as the complete route covers about 20 km.

Best Time

Sunrise at Cape San Antonio and sunset at Punta del Arenal are the most powerful experiences.

Equipment

Bring water, comfortable shoes (some viewpoints have dirt paths) and good binoculars to see the islands and boats.
