Caletes (The Coves)
Natural continuation of Cala Blanca with elevated perspective of the most secluded coves, accessible by coastal path.
Route Tips
Immensity of the bay from a lateral angle. Excellent for observing seabirds and getting photos without people.
This viewpoint is the natural continuation of Cala Blanca and offers an elevated perspective of the most secluded coves in this area. It is reached via a path that borders the coast and allows you to see the Frenchman's Cove from above, a spot that looks like something out of a pirate movie. It is a less crowded area and maintains a virgin essence highly valued by hikers. What you see from Caletes is the vastness of the bay from a lateral angle, allowing you to appreciate the real distance between Cape San Antonio and Cap Prim. It is an excellent place to observe the flight of marine birds nesting in the recesses of the cliff below. If you are looking for a photo where no people appear and only pure nature is seen, this is your viewpoint.
Transport
Although some sections can be done on foot, it's best to travel by car or motorcycle as the complete route covers about 20 km.
Best Time
Sunrise at Cape San Antonio and sunset at Punta del Arenal are the most powerful experiences.
Equipment
Bring water, comfortable shoes (some viewpoints have dirt paths) and good binoculars to see the islands and boats.
